Cruelly I turned her into a poem; however it illustrated one of the tragedies of poetry, and a sad but common perception of poetry. Poetry shouldn't be exclusive to academia, nor should you have to pore over each piece like it was some obscure language. Poetry should be - at one level at least - immediately accessible to everyone, and it should have a relevance. Rock and roll of the written word. Rock poetry." |
